In Memory of Sr. Dolores Marie Siebenmorgen
December 27, 1929 - January 17, 2025
Sister Dolores served Holy Family from 1992 to 1999 as our Pastoral Associate. She was an excellent teacher, administrator, and well loved by many here. Please pray for her soul and for all those who love and miss her. Below are a few comments from those of our parish whom she served while here.
"She was an 'Angel Sister' who could bring peace and calm to any turmoil." Sherri McAuliffe
"Sister Dolores was a genuine presence of Jesus among us. Her quiet sweet way always radiated an inner peace. Sister listened to hear what was behind my words and to guide me to find my way to what I was being called to on my faith journey. My life and faith were so much richer because of Sister Dolores. Regardless of where she lived, she was always close to my heart and soul. As I said to her in our final communication, “May the Lord deliver you from any more suffering and welcome you into His eternal loving embrace.” Rest in peace our dear Sister Dolores." Mary Cooksey
"Three forever thoughts regarding Sister Dolores: She taught me to offer simple prayers to God - don’t overdo it with lengthy lists. God knows our needs - spend that extra time doing good for others. Her miles deep blue eyes were not judgmental, rather loving, undivided and understanding. My Great-grandmother has always been near - my Guardian Angel. I’m grateful now to have two of them. Vance Cooksey
"After Sr. Dolores left Holy Family, she moved to a parish in Victoria. I had been in charge of Holy Family’s fund raising (Pony Express) for about 20 years. Sister asked me to come down and explain the Pony Express to the Parish Council as they wanted to build a new church, and their parishioners were of limited means. I did so and after we were through, she asked if there was something they could do for me. I said I would like the group to pray for the intention of my daughter (I did not share the nature of the intention). Sister Dolores led the entire group of about 15-20 in the Lord’s Prayer. About 4-5 years later the Lord answered this prayer. It was fulfilled in another beautiful way. I tear up thinking about it. PS: The Victoria Pony Express was a success, and a new church was built." In Loving Memory
"Her legacy is woven into the fabric of our lives, a tapestry of faith, love, and unyielding support. Mere words fall short in capturing the essence of this prayerful lady who touched the hearts of so many. Her presence was synonymous with peace, and her influence knew no boundaries.
She was a guiding force in my life, instrumental in my return to our beautiful Catholic faith. Her devotion extended beyond mere words; she embodied the teachings of compassion and love that she so fervently believed in. Memories of her overflow, but among the most cherished are those of her unwavering care for my father. She brought him Holy Communion weekly, and her visits were a testament to her dedication. She was always 'on call' to him, ever ready to respond to his unique needs with prayer and support.
Her loving spirit continues to guide me, reminding me to live with the same grace, compassion, and unwavering faith that she exemplified every day. Her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration, a testament to the profound impact she had on all who were fortunate enough to know her." Judith Phaneuf
